After a few hours, they started their journey later than they had thought since both of them missed each other so much.
Haru was driving a car and looked at Monolith which stood up very tall into the sky.
Monoliths, dark-colored barriers, 1.618 kilometers in height, and 1 kilometer in width, were created from Varanium after mankind lost the war against Gastrea, in the year 2021. The magnetic field emitted from Varanium prevents Gastrea from approaching the Monoliths, let alone entering the protected areas. However, in spite of the strong magnetic field they emit, Gastrea, on very rare occasions, are able to invade the areas surrounded by the barriers.
Japan is an archipelago of volcanic islands resulting in this country producing an abundance of Varanium.
There are a lot of countries who feel jealous of this country and want to conquer this country directly, but the threat of Gastrea is bigger for everyone in this world making a lot of countries to think twice before they do something since once they have made an enemy with this country then they won't be able to get more Varanium which an essential to kill or protect themselves from Gastrea.
Esdeath was resting in the passenger seat after a fierce fight between them. She had always wanted to try to defeat him, but it seemed that it was harder than she had thought. She looked at Haru and swore that she wouldn't give up, then looked at the Monoliths curiously. She knew that this barrier was something that protected the area from Gastrea. She had only seen the picture of Gastrea before the quest, but she had never seen the real things.
Suddenly she felt quite lazy to fight Gastrea after she had a fight with Haru in the car earlier. She looked at him lazily and asked, "Is Osaka quite far?"
"We should arrive in Osaka in half a day," Haru answered. It would have been faster if he had used his gravity magic to fly this car, but he didn't do that since he wanted to enjoy the trip with Esdeath.
For normal or poor or weak people, it was practically impossible for them to transport or go to another area and they could only live in their area for their entire lives, but for the rich, they usually covered their transportation vehicle such as an airplane or ship with a Varium to protect themselves and for the strength, they might walk directly passing through
Although Gastrea only appeared 10 years ago, it has affected the lives of many people.
Passing the Monoliths, they entered the Unexplored Territory.
The Unexplored Territory is located outside of the Monoliths, home to all of Gastrea; varying from Stage I to Stage IV. The area itself is a barren wasteland spotting numerous, poorly alimented greenery that overtakes the surrounding vicinity and reaches incredible heights, preventing legions of light from reaching the surface. The trees possess massive trunks and large crowns, with several branches that further exploit the vast surroundings. Small rivers, leading to a nearby large body of water, can be spotted spread about in the entire territory. Additionally, an abundant amount of mountains stand clear to the n.a.k.e.d eye
Haru's car was very tough since he had modified it before, but he was wondering whether he could combine it with Busoshoku Haki.
Busoshoku Haki is a form of Haki that allows the user to use their own spiritual energy to create, in essence, an invisible armor around themselves, providing incredible offensive and defensive capabilities.
In a simple word, this Busoshoku Haki is just invisible armor.
Haru hadn't learned Busoshoku Haki, but then he thought that it might be necessary to learn it. His strong physics should be enough to learn this skill and decided to do it later after he had gone back since it was both simple and powerful skill.
Haru covered his car with his gravity magic creating an invisible armor that repulsed everything that came close to his car.
But it seemed that he had underestimated his power since he broke a lot of trees directly without care.
Esdeath closed her eyes while imagining a lot of things around her surroundings. She was learning about Kenbunshoku Haki, but it seemed that it was harder than she had thought. The easier way was to buy this skill directly on Group Chat, but she wanted to challenge herself.
From what Haru had told her before, there were four developments after someone had learned a Kenbunshoku Haki.
First is mind-reading, after someone has developed Kenbunshoku Haki to the advanced level they might be able to read the mind of someone. It is a very useful skill for interrogation, someone while also learning someone's secret.
Second is emotion reading, the function of this skill is quite simple and that is to feel everyone's feelings around their surroundings. It is a very useful skill to detect an enemy in your surroundings.
The third is future reading, the one which is mastered by Haru. If someone mastered this skill then they will be able to read the future for a few seconds in the future, but it can be developed further.
The fourth or the last one is the distance, they might not be able to master the three skills on the above, but their Kenbonshoku Haki can notice anyone with more distance such as 100 km around their surroundings or more.
Esdeath knew that all of this skill were very useful, but the thing that she really wanted to be the emotion reading since for her it was better to find her enemy first, and she also thought that it was very useful to see how much Haru loved her. She grabbed his hand and intertwined her hand together with him. She looked outside the window and saw a very tall tower making her frown. "What is that?"
Haru also looked at the direction where Esdeath was saying and said, "It should be the Ladder of Heaven. The strongest and evilest weapon in this world."
"Interesting," Esdeath said with a smile.
In short, it is a super-magnetic linear projector or a very powerful railgun, that can fire a metallic projectile up to 800mm in diameter at close to light-speed. The weapon was originally designed to fight Gastrea, but the area surrounding it has since been overtaken by the Gastrea and the module has since been abandoned
"Do you want to go there?" Haru asked since he knew that no one was in that place. He was also a bit curious about that place and if possible then he would grab this weapon into his zipper.
"Do you want to keep this weapon?" Esdeath asked.
Haru nodded and said, "Yes, it is necessary to do it."
Esdeath nodded and said, "It is an interesting weapon, let's keep it since we don't know what kind of quest might appear in the future."
"Good." Haru nodded.
Esdeath thought for a while and asked, "Did you bring your Gundam?"
"I bring it, but what do you want to do with it?" Haru asked.
"Well... I want to use it, can I?" Esdeath asked while staring at Haru. The moment she saw that black huge robot on Haru's house in his original world, she had always wanted to try to ride it.
Haru sighed and said, "I'll let you ride it later."
"Yay!" Esdeath hugged his arm with a smile.
If someone saw Esdeath right now then people wouldn't think that she was someone who had killed 400,000 people indiscriminately without mercy.
During work, she is a demon general, but at home, she is a very loving wife.
Haru had to admit that he was really glad to marry her.
It didn't take them long before they had arrived on the Ladder of Heaven and got out of the car.
Looking at the tall tower, Haru had to admit that the technology in this world might be several times bigger than his original world.
"You can go inside while I'm having fun here," Esdeath said and took out her Sode no Shirayuki.
At that very moment, the temperature in their surroundings had dropped so suddenly.
Haru who had learned Kenbonshoku Haki nodded and said, "Then, I'll check this thing first."
"You don't need to be in a hurry since we need to defeat 100 of them, right?" Esdeath said while looking at a number of Gastrea that were moving toward them.
*Bzz!* *Bzz!* *Bzz!*
Large numbers of Gasrea crept out around their surroundings toward them while looking at them as if they were their prey.
Esdeath swung her sword before charging towards the group in Gastrea.
