Gu Xijiu had seen a lot of mussels in the past, but she never saw such a massive one before! The two edges of its shell were like a big iron gate with sharpened edges. If it suddenly closed, it could probably cut through anything!
Gu Xijiu was holding the sword given to her by Rong Jialuo. It was famous for its sharpness. When it killed the Six-eyes Spotted Killer Centipedes, it did not leave any mark on it. However, this time when she tried to stab through the gaps between the shells, the mussel closed its shell and damaged the sword. Fortunately, Gu Xijiu could react fast, or her arm would have been cut off too!
Gu Xijiu brought a lot of weapons with her. Thus, when the sword was damaged she immediately took out another golden blade from her storage bag.
To put things into perspective, this mussel did not move fast. If Gu Xijiu wanted to teleport away and flee, she would be successful. However, she was adamant to keep fighting with the mussel! Maybe it was because this mussel had swallowed Si Chen into its stomach! Therefore, she was willing to fight until the end to kill the mussel so that she could check if he was still inside or not.
She would never abandon her companion in any case!
This mussel had spiritual power in the water element. It was very familiar with its icing technique and boiling technique. If Gu Xijiu were not able to teleport to run away, she would have become a frozen human, or her skin may have been boiled until it peeled off.
She fought with this mussel for almost an hour now, and both Gu Xijiu and the mussel were exhausted. It was noticeable from the speed at which it opened and closed its shell which had significantly slowed.
Gu Xijiu finally figured out the key to fighting with it. She kept using her weapon to attack the connecting point of the two shells. Her last stab hit it at one of its weak points which made it open its shell widely! Gu Xijiu wanted to take the opportunity to stab its flesh. However, she never expected that the mussel would release some dark mist. She was now surrounded by a mysterious fog and could not run away.
She could only see darkness. She worried that the dark mist was poisonous, so she quickly held her breath and at the same time, she teleported several miles backward. When she could barely see the surrounding clearly, she found that the mussel was missing and the dark surrounding cloud was clearing up.
She suddenly realized that she was standing on a mushroom-shaped platform and she would fall anytime. Several miles away, there were other mushroom-shaped platforms scattered around her.
Between the platforms, there was grey mist, and in between the fog, she could hear the roaring of beasts.
Although the roaring was low pitched, it still sounded scary. It was as if huge beasts were grinding their teeth at a hidden place.
Where was this place?
Gu Xijiu would usually be scared of staying in a strange place, but she did not have the time to feel scared now because she knew well enough that there would not be anyone to come and save her. No matter how frightened she was, she still had to find a way out on her own.
She looked around carefully to search for that large mussel. She still wanted to open up its stomach to find Si Chen. She grabbed the blade tightly, and when she tried to teleport to another platform, there was a strong wind that blew above her, and a man fell from the sky and landed directly in front of Gu Xijiu, "Xijiu!"
Gu Xijiu stepped backward, and her body stiffened.
The man was wearing a snow white robe. He was handsome, and when he looked at her, he was calm and gentle. It was Long Siye!
He reached out to her, "Xijiu, I'm coming to save you. We should not stay here for long. Follow me!"
